Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Decryption, chat rendering, and PDF/TXT generation all happen locally in your browser. Your backup, encryption key, messages, and contacts never leave your computer. The only network calls are for payment and license checking — never your content.

What do I need to get started?

Your Android phone with WhatsApp, about 5–15 minutes, and a browser. ChatFerry guides you through getting the 64-digit backup key and the encrypted backup file — no technical skills needed.

Does it work with iPhone?

Not yet. ChatFerry works with WhatsApp backups from Android phones (.crypt15 files). iPhone backups use a different format that we don't support.

What happens to photos and other media?

Images are embedded directly in the PDF, next to the messages they belong to. You point ChatFerry at your WhatsApp media folder and it matches photos to chats automatically.

What's the difference between the PDF and TXT files?

PDFs are for reading and sharing — formatted like the chat, with names, timestamps, and images. TXT files are plain text, ideal for feeding a conversation into AI tools or your own scripts.

I have huge chats with years of history. Will it cope?

Yes. Each chat becomes its own PDF, and very large chats are automatically split into multiple files so they stay easy to open and share.
